Online Chinese Teacher (Part-Time / Contract)
Responsibilities
- Teach via online platforms, develop lesson plans and interactive activities
- Use multimedia tools to enhance class participation
- Track student progress, provide feedback and individualized guidance
- Participate in school-organized online training and meetings
Qualifications
- Standard Mandarin pronunciation, strong reading and writing skills
- Proficient with Zoom, Google Meet & Classroom
- Prior Chinese teaching experience (children/youth) preferred
- Able to accommodate weekend or evening class schedules
Compensation
* Starting rate based on experience; adjustments based on teaching quality and student feedback
Detailed Responsibilities
Technical skills: Proficient use of breakout rooms, screen sharing, interactive whiteboards. Timely troubleshooting of audio/video issues.
Student management: Monitor on-screen engagement, maintain classroom energy, uphold online order.
In-Person Chinese Teacher (Part-Time / Contract)
Responsibilities
- Teach at designated campus, follow curriculum plans
- Facilitate student interaction, enhance language expression and cultural understanding
- Design and grade assignments, document student learning progress
- Participate in school events such as cultural festivals, competitions, and graduation ceremonies
Qualifications
- Passion for education, patience and high sense of responsibility
- Standard Mandarin pronunciation, solid Chinese language foundation
- Team player, punctual and reliable
- Willing to participate in community cultural development
Compensation
* Starting rate based on experience; adjustments based on teaching quality and student feedback
Teaching Location
Designated campuses in the Ottawa area (see specific class assignment notice for details)
Teaching standards: Comply with attendance policies and safety requirements, submit lesson plans and grade records on time.
