Online Chinese Teacher (Part-Time / Contract)

Responsibilities

  • Teach via online platforms, develop lesson plans and interactive activities
  • Use multimedia tools to enhance class participation
  • Track student progress, provide feedback and individualized guidance
  • Participate in school-organized online training and meetings

Qualifications

  • Standard Mandarin pronunciation, strong reading and writing skills
  • Proficient with Zoom, Google Meet & Classroom
  • Prior Chinese teaching experience (children/youth) preferred
  • Able to accommodate weekend or evening class schedules

Compensation

$20 - $30 starting rate/hour

Detailed Responsibilities

Technical skills: Proficient use of breakout rooms, screen sharing, interactive whiteboards. Timely troubleshooting of audio/video issues.

Student management: Monitor on-screen engagement, maintain classroom energy, uphold online order.

In-Person Chinese Teacher (Part-Time / Contract)

Responsibilities

  • Teach at designated campus, follow curriculum plans
  • Facilitate student interaction, enhance language expression and cultural understanding
  • Design and grade assignments, document student learning progress
  • Participate in school events such as cultural festivals, competitions, and graduation ceremonies

Qualifications

  • Passion for education, patience and high sense of responsibility
  • Standard Mandarin pronunciation, solid Chinese language foundation
  • Team player, punctual and reliable
  • Willing to participate in community cultural development

Compensation

$30 - $40 starting rate/hour

* Starting rate based on experience; adjustments based on teaching quality and student feedback


Teaching Location

Designated campuses in the Ottawa area (see specific class assignment notice for details)

Teaching standards: Comply with attendance policies and safety requirements, submit lesson plans and grade records on time.
