The Ottawa Chinese Language School (OCLS) is dedicated to promoting Chinese culture and education. It organizes various cultural activities, fosters cultural and educational exchanges, and actively integrates into Canada's multicultural landscape. The school is committed to providing systematic, professional, and practical Chinese language and cultural education for both Chinese and non-Chinese heritage students, as well as adult learners.

For: Zero/Basic Foundation

1. Beginner Class

Focus: Interest Cultivation, Language Sense Development

  • Master the Pinyin system
  • Recognize 150–300 common characters
  • Basic vocabulary (family, animals, food, etc.)
  • Project-based learning: Create a "My First Chinese Picture Book"
For: Some Chinese Foundation

2. Intermediate Class

Focus: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary Expansion

  • Expand vocabulary to 500–800 characters
  • Learn idioms, fables, and historical stories
  • Able to write short, well-structured paragraphs
  • Project-based learning: Create an "Idiom Story Booklet"

3. Advanced Class

Focus: Speech & Debate, In-depth Culture

Zero Foundation

Adult Beginner Class
