CANConnect Micro-grant Diversity Program

Funded by the Canada Service Corps (CSC) at Employment and Social Development of Canada and administrated by GLOCAL, the CANConnect Micro-grant Diversity Program aims to empower Canadian youth, especially underserved youth, to initiate creative civic engagement projects nationwide.

The program focuses on equipping participants with the resources, civic knowledge and digital skills to promote civic engagement and democratic participation in Canada through project-based initiatives.

Summer Company (Ontario)

Best for: Student entrepreneurs, including high school and post-secondary students who want to start and run a summer business.

The program may provide up to $3,000 in startup funding, with business mentoring included to help students build practical entrepreneurship and leadership experience.

Youth Micro-Grants Program (FCC Canada)

Best for: Youth ages 15-30 who want to create community projects that enhance civic engagement and a sense of belonging.

Funded by Canada Service Corps, this 5-6 month program may provide micro-grants of up to $2,000, plus skill-building workshops, one-on-one mentorship, and support from a Youth Project Advisor.

Canada Service Corps - Youth Leadership for Change

Best for: Youth volunteer projects led by young people ages 15-30.

Canada Service Corps supports youth who design and lead community projects. Micro-grants may be available, with a focus on leadership and volunteer development.

Youth Opportunities Fund (Ontario)

Best for: Youth-led organizations and projects led by youth ages 12-29.

Administered by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, this fund supports youth-led projects focused on safe spaces, leadership, employment pathways, and community wellbeing. Multi-year funding may be available.

KidSport Ottawa

Best for: Low-income youth sports participation.

KidSport Ottawa may provide up to $250 per child per year for sport registration assistance. Equipment support may also be available.

Youth Employment and Leadership

The youth employment program, delivered by the Social Planning Council of Ottawa (SPCO), is designed to support youth facing barriers to employment. This program is focused on helping youth from diverse backgrounds, including visible minorities, new Canadians, youth with disabilities, and youth from low-income households, gain the skills, knowledge, and connections needed for a successful career.
