Year of the Dragon Drawing Competition
The dragon represents good luck, justice, prosperity and strength. People born in the year of the dragon are seen as charismatic, intelligent, confident, powerful, naturally lucky and gifted. As the Year of Dragon approaches, the Ottawa Chinese Language School charity (OCLS) is pleased to present the Year of the Dragon Drawing Competition for all Ottawa Chinese School students.
Timelines:
- Submission ends: February 24, 2024
- Award Ceremony: March 2, 2024
Rules:
- Open to all Ottawa students (grade JK -12) registered in a Chinese language program
- The drawing must include a dragon, the Chinese character for “dragon” (龙), and the year “2024” written in Chinese.
- Can use any physical medium (e.g., pencil, crayon, paint, etc.). Computerized digital art will not be accepted.
- Do not write any names on the front of the poster.
- Submit the artwork to the Site Principal and include the student’s name, grade, name of school, and contact information on the back of the artwork.
- For those attending school remotely, submit via link (please note size limits)
Please note that the submissions will not be returned.
The top 15 posters will be selected and receive their awards at the award ceremony. Details will be available shortly on ocls-ottawa.ca
This year’s poster contest will be judged by the Canadian Chinese Arts Association.
